Acme EZE-TOW dolly Tail Lights fall off

TailLights_1_800Whenever we stop,  I always do a walk-around to check straps, chains, electric plugs, tires, etc.

On one stop,  I noticed the passenger side light fixture had fallen out  and was laying up inside the frame and was rubbing against the tire.  Unfortunately,  the rubber gasket that holds the light was missing so I couldn’t re-install the light.

I remember reading a post somewhere that this was a problem and the solution was to drill a hole in the bracket and install a wire tie to hold the light in.  I had my drill and drill bits so I drilled holes in the mounts on both sides, and put a wire tie in the drivers side light so I wouldn’t loose it.

I had the light but the rubber gasket that holds the light was missing.  I checked a couple truck stops, but no one sold just the gasket ( I later found one at my local Advantage Auto store) .

I ordered two lights on e-bay for $17,  CLICK HERE  these came with gaskets and electrical sockets.  Unfortunately,  I couldn’t find a light that used the same socket as the original.

Rather than solder the new electrical connector to I took the rubber off of one of the new lights, and re-used the old original light.  It fit perfect and worked OK.  I put a wire tie around the light to prevent it from falling out.
